Wow this was probably one of the most intelligent blurbs I have view on the subject so far. I don't have any idea where you learn all your information but up! I am going to send a few folks over here to take a look at this post. Awesome, simply awesome. I am just getting into crafting articles myself, nothing remotely close to your writing skills (doh) but I'd love for you to look over my article someday! right here

I wish that for once, the government will think of the future of futures and not just the near future.

I'm sorry - Ev-Eon marketing team - Coal power stations have to go, and CCS with it.

25% is not enough and spending billions on the arcane power providing industry is just a big waste going directly into the narrow breathing air we have left.

I love it! Using sarcasm about climate change is just what we need to gather support for the issue.

Well done!

Hello there. I'm not sure I understand. Is this all serious? Is this unnaturally carbonated products real? What about all the energy spent on producing the bottle or can, and in "embottling" the water, and all the trash that will turn out from it...? Is it really worth it capturing carbon, with all this cost?
I certainly need more information on that, but if you can help me I'll appreciate! best wishes, Elisa.

I was surprised to find questionable statements about carbon capture and storage presented as fact in The Guardian newspaper's recent 'Everyday Energy' supplement(May 3rd). Then I noticed that this was not a part of the Guardian paper itself but an advertising supplement produced in association with British Gas. This might explain why information such as the theoretical 'clean coal' technology is presented as a fact (on page 30) - rather as a still unproven technology (that is being used by energy suppliers to justify the construction of new coal fired power plants).

For a newspaper that prides itself on its independence, this compromise of standards is disappointing. Responsible editorial policy would prevent advertisers parading questionable material as 'facts' in the pages of a magazine insert.

Just when I thought standards were slipping, someone pointed out to me today that Eon - the energy company responsible for the Kingsnorth power station that Climate Camp has targeted as the focus for the camp (due to the fact that Eon are planning on opening the first coal powered plant in over 20 years in this country) will be sponsoring the Guardian Climate Change Summit on Wednesday 16 July in London! I think it is fair to say that The Guardian's claims to be independent are fairly compromised by their recent friendships and relations with fossil fuel energy companies.

Excellent work. This is such a high impact idea - hopefully lots of people will see it and stop to think about the message. As evidenced above, it's not the same message to everyone. That said, I think carbon capture WOULD make a lot of sense IF the technoloy could be proven, AND it was used to retrofit existing stations.
